Our Story
Local Family Farm
Owned and rode horses for over 30 years
After growing up around Stokes County, my parents Darryl and Teresa Bottoms put down roots in Pinnacle, NC. In 2003, with their three children Jordan (oldest), Lauren (oldest sister), and Macey (me, youngest of them all) they started their own business called Whsitling Creek Stables. My Mom (Teresa) ran the books for riding lessons, camp, and trail rides while my Dad (Darryl) was the muscles of the barn. All together we had 13 horses consisting of paints, palominos, and quarter horses. My Mom (Teresa) planned summer camps for 5 years and my family worked helping her build her dream. Since 2003, we haven't stopped doing what we love, we have all gotten older, and we have actually done more! We have added chickens, cows, and of course we still have our four legged friends at the farm!

Now, my parents and I (Macey) have renamed our farm from Whistling Creek Stables to Whistling Creek Farm since all of the new additions. I am a certified teacher for Stokes County Schools. Since I am older, I have recreated all of the fun things my parents did when I was a kid! I am the riding instructor now, and I am still working alongside of my mom and Dad. We hope to make a difference in the younger generation. We are offering Cowboy Camps, riding lessons, and trail rides, with hopefully more additions to come!

Whistling Creek Family
We work together to get things things done around the barn. We love to give back to our community and the kids that live around here. I love my clients as my own and consider them more like family. We are blessed to do this job!
Macey

I am a full time teacher for Stokes County Schools and the riding instructor. I am currently 8 months pregnant with my first baby, due in August. Teresa (my mom) is a retired teacher and helps with all things around the barn, from riding instructor, to planner, to anything in between. Darryl (my Dad) is just a regular ol cowboy and is the muscles around the farm. Jamison, like my Dad is the muscles and is my husband! He works full time, but helps me with anything and everything around the barn.
